These are the ones I loved, all cult classics.
Dark Star (1974) Assault on Precinct 13 (1976) Halloween (1978) The Fog (1980) Escape from New York (1981) The Thing (1982) Big Trouble in Little China (1986) Prince of Darkness (1987) They Live (1988)

It's a great one. Up there with Carpenter's best The Fog, Escape From New York and Halloween.
I also liked Vampires and Ghosts From Mars.

Wouldn't be made today, on the basis of gender balance.
Carpenter is one of the Norwegian scientists in the footage they watch in the film.

One of the greatest endings. Carpenter woefully underrated by Hollywood. Now we get to enjoy the geniuses of Michael Bay and Zack Synder.

The prequel wasn't bad either. Have them both.
